Padmashri Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil a legendary figure in the history of
Co-Operative enterprise in the country was a humble farmer by birth. He
pioneered co-operative movement as a tool for social, educational & economic
upliftment of the rural masses.
To realize the visionary thoughts, his worthy son-Hon'ble
Shri. Balasaheb Vikhe Patil, Ex Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises,
adopted a strategy to raise awareness amongst the small peasants and rural poor, through spread of technical and non-technical education.
The seed laid by the Padmashri blossomed into a sylvan symphony with a large chain of educational institutions. Pravara Institute of Research & Education In Natural and Social Sciences, Pravara Medical Trust, Pravara Rural Education Society and Vikhe Patil Foundation are the educational institutions of eminence, fully well equipped, with modern infrastructural facilities, supported by well qualified and competent faculty.
